James V

Went to Stirling Castle - the restored palace is fantastic. Lovely sunny day, the Ochils excelled themselves in beauty. Just what I needed - a reason to feel positive about Life.

This sculpture is of King .James V himself. The pamphlet says:
"King James V holds pride of place on the corner of the palace. Above him sits a lion on top of a crown. It was the internationally recognised badge of the King of Scots, symbolising bravery and strength." Apparently the sculpture would once have been gilded and painted.
