Poppy

Nakisha and her friends in the Army Cadets were on Princes Street today selling poppies for the Poppy Scotland appeal. She kindly agreed to me taking a few shots and I gave her my blipfoto address - so if you are reading this Nakisha, thanks very much!

The idea for the shot with the focus on the poppy came from a friend, a pro photographer who I get to work with occasionally and we were at an event in Edinburgh today.

Gareth has always taken an interest in my amateur efforts, providing encouragement and constructive comment and will happily pass on tips and ideas, which I really appreciate (cheers again if you are reading this Gareth!).

I missed the chance to get an Armistice Day blip yesterday and I wasn't sure I would get a chance to do one on Remembrance Sunday as I am on a portraiture course during the daylight hours so I really wanted to capture one today.

Away to take Roo swimming and then off to the inaugural meeting of a charity that has been set up in memory of my friend's son. Then the course tomorrow, mix of excitement and nerves!
