Gap Cow

Gap cow literally means "with rice." We use this phrase for side dishes, which we eat with rice, usually some mixture of meat and veggies. Today our gap cow is bamboo stir-fried with egg (on the right.) The other thing we ate with our rice...drum roll please...homemade pizza.

A few of the students have been bugging me since I arrived in Thailand to make homemade pizza. So we finally did it, bought the small $5 block of cheese and everything. My friends got the experience of kneading the pizza dough, making the sauce, and layering all toppings. "It really smells like pizza!" Ling exclaimed as I sprinkled the Italian seasoning into the sauce. We bought some hot dog-looking meat to slice and peeled a (fresh!) pineapple to top off our Hawaiian pizza. It turned out delicious, even paired with rice and bamboo.
