Birthday #2

So with my husband gone at training during our youngest's 4th birthday, we had scheduled a small family gathering to finally celebrate in style. Sadly, my husband was far too contagious to be around others, so we had a wonderful day just the four of us.

After a long day of zooming around the house on his new dune racer, we finally got to his farm cake and few small gifts. His cake turned out just as he'd envisioned thanks to his detailed instructions I've been listening to over the last few months. I certainly have the creativity to make cakes but definitely lack the proper tools and time. I did snap lots during the day, but I wanted to remember this day with this. Though I've only just now spotted the crazy lens flare in his hair. The hell with it, I'm going to go play with my kids.

And happy veteran's day for us here in the U.S. My very own veteran was glad to be home with his family today even though he was under the weather.
