St. Martin's Day

On St. Martin's Day our two local kindergarten organize the procession through the town streets.
The children carry their mostly selfmade paper lanterns and sing songs about Saint Martin. They follow a man dressed as Saint Martin riding a horse.
After the procession a bonfire is lit and Saint-Martins-Brezeln are given out.

At the beginning everybody taking part gathers in church where the first few songs are performed by the children. This is where I took the picture.

I would have liked to take pictures of the procession, but have no clue how to take pictures of moving people with lit lanterns and a horse up front in the dark. Maybe next year.
