Stranger in a strange land

Don't know who this fellow is. He managed to get himself into my kitchen but couldn't get back out.
Not looking too happy about the matter.
In fact he began to meow in a rather sad and soulful way.
He let me have a pat before he dissapeared at full pelt out of the now opened kitchen door.
