Awoken by light

The only ray of direct sunlight that I was aware of today.

It fell on the pot of pens and across a cluttered section of our kitchen table, near to where I was working.

It only lasted a few moments, but it was enough to pull my tired eyes away from a computer screen long enough to realise I was awake.
