Bye Jimmy

Legendary DJ and TV star Sir Jimmy Savile's funeral cortege drives slowly along Foreshore Road, Scarborough, which was lined with thousands of onlookers, on his final drive through town to his burial locally.
This was a busy day, with 3 fellow photogs shooting pics for a special issue of the Evening News, and another 2 shooting video for the website. A dozen for so other agency and newspaper photographers were on the job too, as well as TV crews. This was the third and final day of his send off. What a way to go..?!
He really was a one off, larger than life, eccentric character, who I have enjoyed meeting and photographing maybe 2 to 3 times a year for the past 20 years, and he'll be missed.
