Tangle of whitethorn

This tree forms a web of entangled branches. When you try to cut a branch, it fights back. Its thorns are long and painful. The fresh wood is bright orange inside and will blunt the saw blade in no time. Its fruit feeds the wintering redwings and fieldfares. Its quite a tree.
I overslept this morning, which put me wrong for the day. The boys were late to school, even missed the first class. All my fault.
