The Autumn Years

Fruits of the Spindle Tree

The wood of some species was traditionally used for the making of spindles for spinning wool - fairly obvious really!
An Uncle grew this one from seed and gave it to us a number of years ago. I love it because it is quite a delicate little tree and has little white flowers in the summer, pinky red autumn foliage and then now these lovely little fruits.
