Car Trouble...

Oh dear :(

We used our lunch 'hour' (turned into over two) today to get a new tyre put on the mini. It's a 35 mile round trip to the nearest place anyway, but matters were not helped by the mini 'juddering' all the way there.

'Juddering' is a highly technical term that all highly skilled, intensively trained mechanics will no doubt recognise ;-) I don't actually know what's wrong with him, but he didn't like accelerating or hills or going above 20 miles an hour which isn't really that great on a dual carriageway :-/

So although he now has 4 good tyres, unfortunately......he does not seem to have one good engine. :-/

Last time he had this problem, there were flames coming out of the exhaust, so at least it isn't quite that bad this time BUT driving all that way at 20 miles an hour with hazards flashing and apologies to other drivers aplenty....is not great! I suppose 8 miles an hour would have been a lot worse!

I should add that last time we had this problem fixed it took all of 5 minutes and we were charged the extortionate price of.....£10 :) So I am not too worried - it is just a nuisance more than anything and one more thing to sort out.

I suppose given that this little car is almost 24 years old (I adopted him when he was just 8!) ;-) I have to expect the odd problem!

Despite this....and the incessant rain....there are still enough nice things in my life to keep me smiling :) Hope you are smiling too!
