Dead Pretty

Canterbury is becoming concerned by all the 'dead' things I have lying around the house for a rainy blip day. Today it wasn't raining but I did come home from work not having taken a single photo.

I have been in overdrive today, almost zany. I've done some of my best teaching so far this term and have had energy to burn. Only problem is that now it's burned out and I'm good for not much.

This flower has been on the back burner for a few weeks and tonight it had its day. I will retire it gracefully to the compost bin. I've always been fascinated by decay, especially things that decay beautifully. There are so many more textures in this dead flower than there ever were when it was alive.

Plenty more dead things where this came from.
