Heritage farmhouse

This is the Scott house, the main building on a former Saltspring farm. It is situated on the top of a hill, overlooking the old property. I believe this was one of the more wealthy old farms on the island. Most of the farm houses are modest in size and design. This house is obviously designed by an architect, and in the neo-Gothic style which was so admired in the nineteenth century.

Nowadays, the slope of the hill is developed to a village with townhouses. The architectural style of the the farmhouse has influenced the design of the townhouses. I may show this in a later blip.
