Freefalling Cardinal
Oh my goodness. I cannot believe the colors that I captured today. It was an awesome day!
I took Daughter to college and dropped her off this morning....it was gray, gloomy, and downright ugly. As I listened to the radio, the weatherman assured that by afternoon, there would be blue skies and sunshine. Believe or not?
I met Daughter for lunch and as I took her back to school, the sky was indeed clearing and it was getting beautiful! Well, I cannot stand to allow one good day go by without taking advantage! Therefore, I called Older Daughter who happens to live in Rochester. Did she want to come out and play? YES! She and her daughter Erin did indeed want to play!
We first went to the George Eastman House. House? Umm...mansion! I didn't want to go inside as it was too nice for November. No way. So, we walked around the premises. While all our leaves are gone, Rochester still has color to be found! Not only that, we saw Bumblebees, Honeybees, a perfect Rose, and color, color, color! Oh, and George Eastman? Ever hear of Kodak?
After our rather brief but colorful walk at Eastman House, we wandered on down to Mount Hope Cemetery. More color. Everywhere! I was nearly intoxicated by all the color.
A beautiful male Cardinal flirted with me from behind a tree branch. I took a few photos of him....only one or two came out, but I kept snapping away. Only when I got home did I see this photo of the bird freefalling! And so I chose this one for my Blip. It was hard choosing, but the others will be on my blog later! My one regret is that I was not able to capture his striking bright red color.....
