This was the scene today outside the Queens Hotel, Leeds. Inside, in one of the bars, the body of JIMMY SAVILE was lying in state. There was a constant stream of people going in.

I used to live close to Stoke Mandeville hospital which he supported. I saw him twice, once when he was out running, training for one of the many marathons which he ran, and then in a restaurant in Leeds.

His funeral takes place in Leeds tomorrow and he will be buried in Scarborough.
