Death of the Dahlia
This is the same Dahlia that I blipped 6 days ago. What a little cold weather and rain can do in just 6 days. Today has been very grey so even the background is looking more sombre and there is less greenery. The picture is very grainy and not very well focused as had to fiddle change the settings to let more light into the lens and it kept swaying in the wind.
Talking about grey sombre days, Sir Jimmy Savile's coffin is on display in the Queen's Hotel in Leeds just around the corner from our offices, where people can go and see it up to 6.30pm tonight. Apparently 4,000 people have visited today. It is going to be a busy day in Leeds tomorrow.
He had a full life and did a lot of good work whatever people may have thought about him personally. I can't believe 'Jim'll Fix It' ran from 1975 to 1994. I remember it in the early 80's. Never did write in as I was too shy as a child. I wonder if any blippers wrote to him, and may even have got their wish?
The classic 'Jim'll Fix It' for me is the scouts eating their lunch on the roller coaster. So funny. It's on the net if you want to check it out, you know where to look.
Thank you for your kind comments on my frosty leaf yesterday. It wasn't the prettiest but the frost gave it that extra bit of sparkle :)
