In anticipation of sweet times

Every day I walk amongst the berries. 10 metres of perfectly manicured thornless blackberry, 10 metres of combined marionberry and raspberry and 10 metres of strawberries. They are, if I do say so myself, a picture.

They are all flowering profusely, and the strawberries are already getting plump and starting to colour.

It is time to net the strawberries and will soon have to net the others.

But until I do, I will enjoy seeing the berries develop from bud to fruit, and know that when the berries start to be ready for picking, the young things will be home again from uni for the holidays.

Sweet times.
