Left 'O'vers

We had left over sparklers from Fireworks night, so the girls made 'Os' with them! or were they zeros? (no, not the girls! - the light trails! The girls are heroes!)

This reminded me of the great 'Two Ronnies' sketch in the 'yokel' hardware store, the one where the shop assistant has trouble understanding the dialect of his customer. (said to be the inspiration behind the 'Open All Hours' series?). The sketch became known as the 'Four Candles' sketch.

Anyway, gist of it is, first item Ronnie B asks for is:
"Fawkandles"
Ronnie C places Four candles on the counter.
"No - Fawkandles" emphasizes RB.
"there they are then, four candles." says RC
"No - Fawkandles, 'andles for forks" says RB.

.....

Fourth item (to cut a long story short), and here's my point....:
"Ose" asks RB
"O's?" quizes RC
"Ose!" confirms RB
RC goes off and returns with a Garden Hoe and places it on the counter.
"No, Ose!' says RB
"Oh, Ose! I thought you said O,..." taking back the Hoe, wandering off mumbling..."...when you said Ose I thought you said O. You said Ose!"
Returns placing a garden hose on the counter.
"No, Ose!' says RB
RC, confused says "Ose?, Oh! What? you mean Panty Ose? yeah...Panty-Ose" he says reaching for a packet from the counter beside him.
"No no. Ose! ose for the gate! 'Mon Repose'. Ose. letter Ose!"
"Letter O's!" RC realises, climbing perilessly to the top of a ladder and returning with a box, searches through it and finds two letter O's from a box, placing them on the counter.
He then climbs back up the ladder to replace the box. and stumbles back down again....asking "Next?"
"Got any P's?".......

You know where it goes after that...even if you haven't seen it.

And now hopefully, you will understand my amusement when taking a photo that when I commented on the fact that they were making O's with their sparklers and the reply came back, "why, what do you want?"... I said...."Fawkandles!"
