As a rule, alligators are just as scared of you as you are scared of them. One exception: mothers with babies. Here we have one not running away but defending the area where her 30 or so little ones are playing.

Today we arrived in Lafayette, Louisiana, early enough to take a boat ride in the Bayou with Guy Leblanc, our guide. Then we had dinner at Prejean's, award winning Cajun restaurant featuring live Cajun music.
