A frog catching a puppy (and giving it bunny ears)

Didn't take many pictures today but still ended up torn between two. Chose this one in the end as it has both of them in it and as I am home alone with them for the rest of the week it only seems right. Kids were off today so the teachers could, "go to other schools and steal ideas" apparently. Nice timing as Carl headed off to NYC at lunchtime so we headed for a very nice family breakfast to start the week. Neither Carl or I go away very much and one of the consequences is that we have developed very little resilience for it in the family on the rare occasions it is necessary. Let's just say we introduced them to the idea of suppressing your feelings, not being self-expressed and a bit of good old fashioned stiff-upper-lipness. Didn't make the parting any easier on anyone but once he was gone they were fine.

Other than our early morning outing a very at home hanging out day which has been rather lovely. Other friends were off school too so they headed over for a play this morning and this afternoon disappeared in a mass of homework, cluedo, pizza, a film, long baths and stories. All this whilst Carl is still in the air. He really doesn't like flying at all so I hope it's been a good one.

As for me, I'm off for the first of a week of early nights that I am hoping will finally shake this sore throat and cold that have been stalking me for the last week.
