Sweet Charity!

This morning Mike and I drove over to Helmsley to see the newly opened Oxfam shop. Our manageress has been heavily involved in setting it up and several of our Thirsk volunteers too. It is really fabulous inside, a wonderful shopping experience. Everything is beautifully displayed and features of the old building are used to good effect. Trade was brisk when we were there and of course I didn't come out empty handed!
Helmsley is a lovely market town and well worth a visit, the drive over the moor top can be spectacular on a clear day, (but not this morning!)
After the sunshine of yesterday the gloom of today's weather is quite a shock. It was lovely to see on Blip how many people were able to enjoy yesterday's sun, all over the country it seemed. Helps us to keep going in the duller days ahead. Now to continue my knitting!
