1. My internal alarm clock goes off at exactly the right time to let me get up, stretch, tidy and get out for a run before I need to be where I need to be.

2. It's a glorious run through Linn Park. A perfect autumn day.

3. After some time on the mat, I head out to Karen's. This is the lunch she made - most of it the product of her veggie box delivery. It's really, really tasty.

4. We get down to work. We're choosing a different kind of Christmas this year and by 6pm our choice is made and the deal is one. We're booked.

5. I'd been a little worried about telling mum my Christmas plan. Turns out she'd been worried about telling me hers. We both come clean, we'll both be doing what we want and we'll both be happy knowing the other is too.
