Kabuliwala

Kabuliwala - the street vendor from Kabul(Afganistan). He used to sell dry fruits, condiments and spices brought from Kabul, on the streets of Kolkata. The pages you see open in the image are a story called Kabuliwala, written by Nobel Laureate, Tagore. This is a story about Kabuliwala and a little girl, Mini. Kabuliwala used to give sweets/eatables to Mini for free and in return, she would let him play with her. He used to see his own little girl in Mini. A very good story, beautifully written.

The script you see here is "Bangla" language - spoken in the eastern part of India.
