Camera meditation
About forty people attended the silent retreat, which consisted of alternating periods of sitting meditation and walking meditation, with breaks for meals and sleep. A gentle mist of rain fell most of the time, and the forest was quiet, almost as quiet as the meditation hall.
Vipassana isn't much into statues, but the Zen practitioners at Great Vow Monastery have a special fondness for Jizo, depicted in statues all over the grounds. I don't know much about Jizo, but the Roshi at the monastery has written a couple of books about him.
