Without Malice

By aforethought

Peace at Last

It's the weekend of the fifth of November. And that means fireworks. It means headaches, poor sleep, anxiety and cowering in the corner. The dogs, of course.

Our boy was reasonably sane, aware of what was going on, and hoping it would go away. It was the first such event for our young pup, and she was more confused than scared. But our old lady hates this weekend! See above!

I love fireworks. But... Does *everyone* need to have them? Scattered over each evening, one shot here, another there. How about you pool your money, organise a local event? It would be bigger and better, which means we all get to enjoy it! And enjoy it more!

But it would be shorter, more concentrated. I could even deal with it being close by, knowing that an hour later it would be over. And our dogs, everyone else's pets, and the local wildlife would be spared this annual terror.

And don't get me started about the early starters and repeat offenders! And then there is Hogmanay...
