There's Not Mush room there!
Woke to another fabulous day so breakfasted quickly and out with Cara and Bruce having first fed the birds and defrosted the car. I took quite a few photos of the frosted bracken and leaf litter and then came across these mushrooms, so decided to try and get an artistic photo of their undersides. Cara hasn't quite got used to me using the camera so much during our walks so she often noses around - and this time she managed to squeeze in behind the mushrooms just as I took the photo. Some of the other pictures of the mushrooms were slightly better but I couldn't resist this one with her in the background. But you can see the gorgeous blue sky in the background and also, if you look carefully, a dew drop on the tip of one of the grasses.
Once home I decided to tidy up more of the garden. Having endured their required frosting the dahlias were ready to be stripped down and their tubers are now in the greenhouse drying off prior to being overwintered somewhere safely. Then I removed all the old canes from the Autumn Bliss raspberries, noticing that already some young canes had emerged which needed to be tied in as a precaution against winds, severe frost or even snow. A couple of heathers had finished flowering so they needed to be clipped to keep them in good shape - and then it was time for a cuppa. Not a bad afternoon's work and it was a good time to stop as it was getting quite cold.
