Bending Brian's Ear
We had a great rehearsal with the NOBBBS, this afternoon, in Whitburn's bandhall.
Iain, (standing)(talking)(again), is just running through the arrangements for our next weekend concert in Glenrothes, Fife. Just one last time.
NOBBBS is actually the National Old Boys Brass Band of Scotland. It was Iain's idea to get "older" brass bandsmen together to play concerts in aid of The Prostate Cancer Charity. Iain does all the organising, so we let him talk, if he wants to.
Holding the baritone is Jimmy, my friend from our band, and closest to the camera is Brian, a true gentleman from Fife.
All three are great musicians, just more character in their faces than there once was.
It has just occurred to me that I have known Iain for nearly thirty years, since we met in one of the top class works brass bands in England. Gulp. Thirty years, where did they go?
