Day 29. 365grateful - Amadou and Mariam
I walked from work (I was at a conference this afternoon) all the way to Bethnal Green. We had tickets to hear Amadou and Mariam's Eclipse concert. It was very unusual because it was performed in the dark. Amadou and Mariam are blind and wanted their audience to experience their music in a similar way to them. Even the emergency exit signs were covered up. We were given cards to hold up if we wanted to leave and staff with night vision goggles would come and get us.
The concert was fab. I have seen Amadou and Mariam perform twice before and I listen to their music whenever I need feel a bit happier.
The lights cam on gradually at the end so we could see that they were actually there!
Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. William Arthur Ward

The 365 Grateful Project
In early 2008, in an effort to fight depression, Hailey Bartholomew started a year long photographic project which involved taking one Polaroid photo a day of something she felt grateful for.
I thought that this was such a fab idea I would do it as well. I have been blipping on and off recently but I lost my enthusiasm for it when I felt that every day was the same, always going to the same place. However, I think that documenting something I am grateful for each day gives it a different slant.
