Polar Bears

Churchill Wildlife Management area, Churchill, MB, Canada. A population of approximately 930 polar bears remains in this area. Each October and November, the males and non-pregnant females gather on the shores of Hudson Bay to wait for the ice to form. Once it does, they head out on it to hunt. Because their staple food is ring seal, these bears haven't eaten anything to speak of since the ice melted in July.
