Wallington Hall.

A beautiful Autumn day today, so we had a trip out to Wallington Hall in Northumberland.
A huge estate owned now by the National Trust, but originally by the Blackett and then the Trevelyan families.Lancelot 'Capability' Brown was born nearby, and he had a hand in designing some of the grounds.
This is the main house(which was closed for the Winter). The four stone griffin heads in the forground, once stood on Bishop's Gate in London.
We wandered around the walled garden, the lake and the grounds in the sun, ending the visit with a coffee and a warm scone. A morning well spent!

I have just been told that I have reached 1095 entries. Where has the time gone? I am still enjoying the daily blip and I am grateful to all those that make it possible, and to all those who show an interest in my photographs. Thank you .
