SWANNING ABOUT
A bit of birding today as we went to Cockerham, near Lancaster, to see the American Golden Plover which had been found there. A very handsome wader, but rather distant for my little camera. We then went on to Leighton Moss RSPB, where we saw 40 Common Snipe feeding and preening together in one of the pools. Usually we only glimpse these skulking about in the reeds so it was a real treat. But the Mute Swan wins the blip of the day, as it was closer and in focus.
I think it will be a day at home tomorrow so I am hoping to catch up on Blip. I have been a poor commenter of late. Sorry.
