Not Keeping Up With The Neighbours

I was in Eindhoven pleading for a job with what dignity I had remaining after ten months of unemployment. Walking back through the centre towards the railway station (the design of which was inspired by a radio made by Philips, surprise, surprise), I came across De Bijenkorf. I'm a great fan of unusual architecture and this really caught my eye. At the time Tilburg and Eindhoven were vying for the title of the best city centre: how, thought I, could we Tilburgers compete with such as this?
