And then the rains came!

Hot and humid day in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon...I can see why they used to call it Paris of the Orient. Todays sights included the former Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral... even the General Post Office was well worth a visit. And of course the war remnants museum had it's own harrowing stories to tell.

Situated opposite the Saigon River, the hotel has a splendid view....kinda lucky as this is as close as we got...thunder, lightening and torrential rain made sure we never got our late afternoon river cruise....although we made our visit to a cultural show by bus, so all was not lost!

Now I'm wondering where I can get a pair of wellies before tomorrow.....at this rate I'm going to need them...lol!!
