King Robert the Bruce
Had a visit to Stirling today with a friend. The weather was not too good, and in fact as we walked on the castle esplanade it was raining quite hard. This is a blip of King Robert the Bruce's statue on the castle esplanade, I like the fact that in the background you can see the Wallace Monument, which, even with the bad weather you can see in the distance if you look carefully. They were both such icons of Scottish history that it is fitting that they are photographed together. Getting a bit maudlin' in my old days. Anyhow, we had a lovely lunch in the Portcullis pub, and then headed back down to the bus station, via the shops. Some nice shops in Stirling. Although I am not a great shopper, I enjoyed it as I bought some gifts for 'that time which must not be mentioned until December'. Still raining at home, so I guess I didn't miss much!
