Meditative Rose

Do you like the contrast to yesterday's very much living flower?

This is one of my favorite things. It is the first rose given to me by my ex-boyfriend.. about three and a half years ago. Wow, what a realization of the passage of time. Regardless of my feelings about that business, I like that I've kept this intact. It's one bit of my collection of superstitious relics. I keep them around to serve as memories and constants.

This also rather reminds me of a certain Dalí painting which is actually taped to my wall. Hence the title.
