Waging a war against corn syrup part 3
The contents of yesterday's supremely exciting blip of a boiling saucepan turned into these spiced apple cider caramels...
As I mentioned yesterday (I think I did anyway), I made two batches - one using corn syrup, one using inverted sugar syrup. Both batches worked wonderfully, and in fact, since I tweaked the spices a little in the inverted sugar syrup batch, I might even say that it was the tastier of the two (not that the corn syrup one isn't tasty).
I wrapped them in cellophane to make them look pretty, but actually they really stick to it, so that might not have been the best plan. They're so good though that it doesn't really matter. This is a back-blip, but I don't think I'll mention quite how many I've eaten...
I think I'll be hitting the gym in the morning. Or maybe I'll eat some more caramels. I'll let you guess which is more likely (clue: it's not the first option).
