November 1: Total Mess

November is not coming in very well. Still no power, roads closed , & there's no busing to school. I had to drive Hannah after detouring way out around to avoid all the closures. This meant I was an hour early for work & drove an hour to travel what normally takes 30 minutes, tops. Argh!

This is a shot of my backyard devastation from Saturday's bizarre storm. Trees snapped every which way, leaving this massive mess to clean up. The pear tree in the forefront lost about 8 branches alone. The pond is on the left. The poles we put up to hold the netting (to keep out leaves) were knocked down, as you can see. Such a mess.
