Back of Beyond

Blair Street, Edinburgh isn't really the back of beyond but it certainly isn't the front either. The buildings formerly at the bottom of the street burned down a couple of years ago and the local council stills seems to be anguishing over how to replace them. We have a long history of such 'holes in the ground' here, but no doubt some nondescript office block and shops will be built in due course. Bah humbug.

A very pleasant day; in town early, back for lunch then a short outing on the new bike. Checked google maps and it turned out to be nine South Edinburgh miles. SE miles are tough because there are no flat bits in south Edinburgh. So I'm a bit chuffed, given recent unwellness.

And I see that the recently-appointed boss of Lloyds Banking Group, Antonio Horta-Osorio is taking sick leave due to stress. Welcome to the club Antonio! (LBG and I have a history.. ;)
