THE SWANS FLYING ABOVE OUR HEAD
are amazing to see and they shout so loud. What happened was that Piet Hein was emptying the gutter of all the aok and beech leaves. Suddenly he cried from there, several times, I heard the sounds but had difficulty to understand what is was and if ir was for me to respond. I went outside on the terrace and back in to grab my camera, one group of birds were disappearing already, flying in a V-form. But behind the hills I heard the shouting of another group coming nearer.
So I waited till they came, and when I saw them in the sky above our house I was astonished of the number of the birds. A challenge to make photos, indeed.
Not untill I saw the pictures I realised that it were all swans, going to the south.
What extraordinary joy I felt to be present of such an event.
My haiku:
The swans urge to fly
Their departure made easy
Staying together
And the proverb of Pythagoras:
Animals share with us the privilege of having a soul.
