October Origins - Hallowe'en
For some reason, the spelling of Hallowe'en seems to have become Halloween. Call me pedantic but I don't like it. It's the evening before All Hallows so the apostrophe is important!!!!
Bought this squash last week - half price at the supermarket - not because I wanted to eat it but because it is so beautiful. Look at the colours. Amazing. So it's sitting on my side as an ornament.
Where, I hear you ask, is the October Origins bit? Well pumpkins and squashes weren't available at Hallowe'en when I was a little girl. My lanterns were made out of a swede!! It was flipping hard to hollow out and it smelled terrible when it go singed by the candle. Ah, those were the days!!
