Samhain

I always try and take a moment and reflect at this time of year. I did not get much time for reflection last night...life sort of got in the way. I went to chorus and had three people to pick up, no petrol in the car, running late, stressed.....ah well. A moment happened which will haunt me for many Samhains to come.

Anyway I am reflecting now.

This is my niece, she gets married on Saturday. Love her to bits and I am hoping her day is fabulous. She had come to pick up some wellies and other stuff....long story.

Had another upsetting point on the night as I saw a good and very old friend cry. I realised I have never seen her cry before. Life is crap sometimes.

As I get older life very much seems to be made up of great shining moments of light and then more and more dark shadows. I suppose ultimately we need to keep our heads towards the light and I hope I can help my friend to do that.

At this time of year when we enter the dark part of the year I think this can get harder but I am going to try and keep looking forward and try not to ponder too much on the dark but look for the light ahead.
