The Tower

S had a hankering to see the Tower of London, so we spent the day there in glorious autumn sunshine. Lots of awestruck American tourists who couldn't get their collective heads round how long ago 1070 was! The Beefeater tour was an absolute hoot, highly recommended for any age.

Then we had a stroll along the river and ended up at Covent Garden, (yes I know it isn't on the river!) to visit the Apple Store . . . another interesting experience. There didn't seem to be a lot of shopping going on. S wanted a new iPhone & was told to order online since it would arrive quicker that way. So more of a showroom than a store.

Spent the evening flopped in front of the TV with sore feet and a bottle of wine - perfect. More culture tomorrow.
