Dumpster Derby

This is my back-blip of last night's annual Dumpster Derby. "Dumpster" is an American word for a garbage hopper, and what happens here every year is that people take over a single section of street where the incline is very steep, and roll down it using any old wheeled comtraption that they've made from found objects. This one was interfered with by a stupid man who would not move his car, but all in all it was fun and very successful. Normally it's held on a Saturday but we had a storm and much of the area is without electricity.

The Dumpster Derby has been held for about ten years and gets bigger every time. It has no organization but the masterminds are all anarchists. This one brought perhaps 500-600 people out. It lasts about an hour. Typically, by the time the police notice it, it's over.
