Sunday morning plus 1hr

The extra hour in bed was welcome as I headed into Edinburgh early for the 24-hour shift as duty comms (press) officer. As I approached govt hq on Regent Road just before 8am, the sun was just rising over Arthur's Seat in Holyrood Park. Typical Sunday shift - quiet for the morning, allowing me to read through the papers, catch the main political broadcast shows and check what's happening online, then a steady increase in media calls in the afternoon, and a couple of irksome late-night press queries on stories that have been running all day which need checked out. Still, that's day one of the the six-day week out of the way...
