Autumn in Otaniemi
Today I took a break from work in the afternoon to enjoy a bit of fresh air and the autumn light. I bicycled to Otaniemi, left my bike where we always leave them and walked to the bird watching tower.
I thought that I would be the only one to go there this time of the year when almost all birds have left this Northern Hemisphere. I was wrong, there was a birdwatcher with his long lens. I asked: "Are there really any birds to watch?" and he said: "Have a look, there is a sea eagle sharing some carcass with a couple of crows". I looked through the binocular and saw the huge and majestic eagle enjoying the meal with the crows.
I have seen sea eagles on Kökar, but I have never seen one so closely as I now saw this with the bird watcher's long lens. The crows looked like ants next to the eagle.
Unfortunately my 150mm lens was not enough to capture the birds, but I got an autumnal light and landscape instead.
