Talyllyn Lake
No-one knows how the Talyllyn Railway got it's name. This beauty spot is 5 miles further up the valley from the end of the line. As far as we know there were never any plans to extend the line which was built to bring slate from Quarries at Bryn Eglwys to the coast at Tywyn.
This is a beautiful spot though, visited by horse drawn charabancs in Victorian times. Some great walking on Cader Idris close by too.
Pictured on our way home .. back to crocuses (and work) tomorrow :-(
