Majorca Day 4
We had been forecast storms for today I think so imagine our delight when we were greeted with near clear blue skies! The children were desperate to go to the Terrace at Alcanada so they could jump off the diving board.
Unfortunately despite the storms missing us, the sea was too rough so there was no beach left and lots of rubbish had washed in. Also the bar was shut.
So we left and decided to go back to Port de Alcudia. Last time we holidayed in Majorca (before Red was even a twinkle) this beach was pretty grim. The marina sheltered this corner of shallow sea making it very safe for children BUT it also stank of stagnant water and was really just unpleasant.
As part of tarting up the port, palm trees have been planted, the sand has been replaced and the water cleaned up. Some play equipment has been installed on the beach and it is all really rather perfect for young children. This also makes it quite busy, so one day here was plenty!!
