Christmas Treats

Christmas wouldn't be the same without homemade Christmas Pudding and Christmas Cake.

Whilst the cake is cooked and ready for marzipan and icing, tomorrow the Christmas Puddings will be cooked for 8 hours.

They are not all for us. Friends put in orders. The same with the cake - we make a total of 4.

The tradition I have been brought up with is that our christmas Puddings contain money. Years ago it was sixpence, now it is 5ps. Five puddings are made and there are ten 5ps. We dont put money in each pudding - that would spoil the surprise. We simply throw the money into the mixture, mix it up and then fill the basins, so who knows where the money will end up.

Next on the agenda is making the mincemeat for the mince pies.
