Hope for Emergencies

Attention: Please Don't Rush the...

I went to UGA, but having been raised by 2 Tech graduates, I am a lifelong Tech football fan (insofar as I am a fan of any sports team at all). So I went with them to yesterday's homecoming game, all of us fully expecting that Clemson would shut us out and it would basically be a travesty and an embarrassment. Why oh why would they think the CLEMSON game was the best choice for homecoming?!?!

So when our Yellow Jackets ended up trouncing the Tigers 31-17, we were extremely pleased. I cheered so loudly I lost my voice [again]!

There was a warning flashed on the jumbotron about 30 seconds before play ended, which read "ATTENTION FANS: For your safety and the safety of your fellow fans, please do not rush the field. Field-level access is by authorization only." As you can see, pretty much nobody took heed. I've never seen anything like it, and it was kinda scary, especially as you would occasionally see people get knocked down and just lay there for a second. No thank you. But you can also see just a bit of the Atlanta skyline in the background. I got a surprisingly good shot of the field with the city in the background just as the sun was setting, and had planned to blip that...but that was before I knew we would win ;)

Anyway, it was a heckuva game! And since I had spent the entire day cleaning and writing, I even got to relax and enjoy it. Even the chilly temperature was kind of nice, though it's come awfully early this year, which is making me anxious about what winter has in store...
