Rays on Leaves

Took me a long time to get this image "right".
I had to follow Tim Gunn's advise ("Project Runway")-"Make it work".
This is an image I would toss-wrong time of day-wrong subject-what was I thinking?
A photo a day forces me to make the best of what I have to work with. I'm a start over type girl, so it's difficult.
Will this improve my photography or will I become a cranker-outer of mediocre images?
